DO THEY OFFER SPA TREATMENTS FOR MEN?
  • Yes. Joire’s provides treatments and packages specifically aimed at men.

DO YOU OFFER COUPLES TREATMENTS?
  • Currently, Joire’s can not accommodate couples treatments due to room size, however, a couple may still book treatments to be conducted at the same time and day within our two treatment rooms. Please call the spa for inquires and couples discounts if you do not mind being in separate rooms.

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE A MASSAGE?
  • In general, you should not eat before having spa treatments. If you are hungry, you may have a small snack such as fruit or a cup of tea but nothing more than that. If you eat, you risk getting nauseous during your treatments.

CAN I CONSUME ALCOHOL BEFORE OR AFTER A SPA TREATMENT?
  • Prior to your spa treatments, a spa concierge will offer the option of water and or tea. We advise against the consumption of alcohol before a spa treatment. Depending on the alcohol content alcohol may heighten sensitivity for some. We do not recommend it for laser, waxing, and sauna, however, please accept a relaxing glass of wine post-treatments/services.

SHOULD I SHOWER BEFORE A TREATMENT?
  • Yes. It's hygienic and polite. It is far more pleasant for your spa concierge if you are clean. This is especially important if you have scheduled an intimate body treatment. The shower will also help your body decompress before your treatment. The warm water will open up your pores and the products applied to your body will be more easily absorbed.

DURING THE TREATMENT FOR A MASSAGE, SHOULD I TAKE ALL MY CLOTHES OFF?
  • No, you should undress to your comfort level. Joire’s spa concierge is trained in proper draping techniques, and they will keep you covered at all times, only the area being treated should be exposed.

SHOULD I TALK DURING MY TREATMENT?
  • This is entirely up to you. If you have any questions regarding your treatment however you should feel free to ask your spa concierge. Our spa concierge will ask for feedback during treatments such as whether the pressure is comfortable or not. You do not have to talk; after all, you are there to relax.

WHAT IF I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT SOMETHING DURING THE MASSAGE OR TREATMENT?
  • You can tell your spa concierge about how you feel, if you think you need to stop the treatment go ahead and do so. You should be treated with consideration, dignity, and respect.

WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP DURING A TREATMENT?
  • Many people fall asleep during relaxing treatments and Joire’s spa concierge know this. After all the whole point of the treatment is to get you to relax so going to sleep is a compliment for the spa concierge that they have done a good job.

HOW LONG AFTER MY TREATMENT CAN I STAY IN THE ROOM?
  • Not long, our spa treatment rooms will be needed within 15 minutes for the next client. However, you may be seated at our lounge where you can relax while you enjoy a refreshing drink.

DO I REALLY NEED TO DRINK WATER?
  • Yes, this is vitally important as you need to help your body flush out the toxins released during treatment, most especially before and after a Joire’s sauna pod treatment.

HOW DOES LASER FEEL?
  • It depends on your pain tolerance. To some, there’s no pain at all while others describe the treatment as having a rubber band snapped against your skin.

SHOULD I SHAVE BEFORE LASER?
  • Yes. shave a day before laser to prevent sensitivity. Laser is attracted to the pigment of the hair follicle, so not shaving will give it another “barrier” to attack before getting the follicle, which is what it needs to do to work in the first place.

DO I HAVE TO REMOVE MY PREVIOUS EYELASH EXTENSIONS FOR A NEW SET?
  • Joire’s provides eyelash removal at an additional cost. Please book an “eyelash removal” and your eyelash extension services at the same time. Please do not book a ‘removal’ for “fill in” eyelash extension services.

CAN I WEAR MASCARA OR STRIP LASHES WITH MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
  • Lash extensions provide the luxury and convenience of not having to apply mascara or strips in order to achieve a fuller or longer look. It is not advised and may compromise the longevity and appearance of your extensions.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS WHEN WASHING MY FACE?
  • Avoid touching your eye area as much as possible, if you must remove your eye makeup, Joire's recommends using a mild, low-alkaline soap and to always use an oil-free makeup remover. Thankfully, our spa provides our signature Joire’s Lash Shampoo, lash extensions foam cleanser available for purchase on our site, and in the spa.

HOW LONG DOES A FACIAL LAST?
  • That answer really depends on what treatment you’re getting done and your skin type. If you have super oily skin, you might have a harder time keeping the results at home. Most facials are customized according to your skin’s needs, but two to three weeks is an average time-frame.

I’M PREGNANT, CAN I STILL RECEIVE SERVICES FROM JOIRE’S?
  • There are some treatments you should avoid in pregnancy but you can still make the most of at Joire’s Spa & Studio. Joire’s will not give certain treatments to women in their first trimesters, such as a full body massage or body wraps. Always alert a spa concierge if you are pregnant as there are some aromatherapy massage oils it’s wise to avoid in early pregnancy, and even specialist pregnancy massages and treatments are often only recommended after 12 weeks.
  • In early pregnancy, you may have to focus on beauty treatments such as facials, and maybe a neck and shoulder massage. Please call our spa to inquire about our “Mommy and Me” packages and some pregnancy-specific treatments. Sauna pod treatments are not recommended at any stage during pregnancy due to the risk of overheating.
